Witch Hazel Benefits

I have been receiving a lot of tweets recently, from my followers, asking what natural products I like to treat light acne. A lot of people who suffer from acne also have sensitive skin, this is usually due to the large amount of products we apply to get rid of those pesty zits. So for sensitive skin, I like to use Witch hazel- a plant that is turned into a natural astringent.  You a can find a pre-mixed version of Witch Hazel ready for acne treatment at any health food stores. Actually!!! I recently found some at CVS the other day, so don’t worry it won’t be a mission to find this product. Phew! Witch Hazel has been around forever and is pretty much a “cure all.” It is a great natural product to have in your house if you have kids because sooner or later they will get an insect bite or a bruise and witch hazel can help heal those right up!

If you don’t want to use it as an stringent you can mix it in with a carrier oil to dilute it even more and use it as a moisturizer. The options are endless with so many different ways to apply this product. Definitely a must have in your medicine cabinet!!

Witch hazel has been used for centuries to naturally help heal & prevent these conditions:

  • acne
  • skin sores
  • bruises
  • redness and swelling
  • ingrown hairs
  • psoriasis or eczema
  • oily skin
  • insect bites
  • poison ivy

  • allergic reactions
