Traveling?? Makeup Tips You’ll Want To Know

With Spring Break, and Memorial Day just right around the corner I figured it is time to start talking travel tips. Who doesn’t want to look 100% when they arrive at their final destination and with the fascination of Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook there is no way we are getting out of pictures along the way. I travel quite often for work and to go back to the East coast to visit fam so I have mastered the fresh faced look right after a looooong red eye flight.

If you are able to, the best way to travel is always makeup free! This allows your skin to breath and not having harsh, heavy makeup sitting on your face while you sit in recycled air for hours. Give it a breather, take it off! Okay, you are about an hour in to your 4 hour flight and the kids have finally settled down ( husband included ) , now it is time to lay on a moisturizing mask!  These are a great way to replenish loss of moisture due to that yucky airplane air; it will perk up the skin and give you a just woke up kinda fresh look! Now sometimes after removing these masks our skin has a little residue left on it so just take a facial wipe and give your face a quick little “wash” BAM that’s it! It’s totally up to you whenever you want to use the mask, sometimes I wait until right before landing to liven up my face.

Hydrating mists are great way to quickly re-hydrate your face. This can be used in combo with the moisturizing mask or solo. If you are taking a quick flight somewhere then I would definitely recommend using just a hydrating mist. These are are even great to have right now in the Winter months so it’s worth the purchase. When we travel our skin gets dehydrated so make sure to drink lots and lots of water the night before, the day of, and even after the flight! Nobody wants dull, dry skin!! I bring my S’well reusable bottle with me and that way when I get to the airport and I’m waiting at the gate I can refill my bottle and stock of on thay hydration!!

Now if you must wear makeup when traveling try and stay away from heavy makeup like, eyeshadows, mascara, and eyeliners. They will not uphold, so don’t even try. It’s so much better to just apply these when you land. For your base, throw on some bb or cc cream – these are light enough so they won’t enhance the dull appearance of your skin and they will give your skin a light tint so you won’t feel so bare.

Now I could go on for ever about how to come out of the airplane looking like you just left the Paris Fashion Week, but let’s get real we want to relax a bit on our flight.  Guys, all these tips I mentioned using traveling by air as an example, but if you are driving on a long road trip than these are beneficial to you too!!

Here are a few of the products I use when I travel:
