I met Kaley at Comic Con when I was 7 months pregnant with my first child. She was nervous I was putting way too much moisturizer on her face, but ten minutes into it, she said it felt amazing. We instantly hit it off and have been inseparable ever since! She is genuinely, the most caring and giving person I have ever met in my entire life. Kaley has been in this business a long time and has had immense success but nothing has changed her. She is so down to earth. She even threw my second child’s Baby Shower and it was so amazing that I thought I was going to be a Tribute in the next hunger games after it was over….that’s how mind blowing it was! Kaley has become more than just a client— she is a sister and a best friend.
Kaley is somebody that embodies so much confidence and personal style, with a ‘I don’t give a &*%$ what other people think attitude that is simply inspiring. Hollywood or no Hollywood— she is real, she is a muse and a pure joy to work on. She has done of a lot of amazing things for my career and I owe her a lot. I wanted to highlight how fabulous she truly is in this interview.
How long have you been acting?
Too long 🙂 almost 25 years.
What/Who inspired you to become an actress?
I didn’t grow up dreaming of becoming an actress, it was just something I did amongst other things. It has always been incredibly natural for me. It’s just part of who I am.
What was your very first acting gig?
A miniseries called “Quicksand No Escape” with Donald Sutherland, Tim Matheson and Felicity Huffman. I must have been 4 years old!
Who was a dream actor to work with?
John Ritter forever and always.
What’s the best part about your job? What’s the worst?
The best part is simply knowing I have a job that I love! Most people can’t say that. The worst part… lack of privacy for sure!
Is there any job you passed on that you wish you didn’t?
What’s your favorite part about working on The Big Bang Theory ?
The cast and crew. I have formed relationships with every single person on that stage, and I have learned from each of them. That’s something I will cherish forever.
What is your favorite red carpet look of all time?
Can I say my pink Vera Wang wedding gown!?
What’s your favorite part about the red carpet: Getting glammed up, being on the actual carpet, finally being inside the venue, or when you’re at home relaxing afterwards? Why?
I actually love the getting ready part. I have the most amazing “glam squad!” We literally give ourselves 3 hours to get ready because all we do is talk, eat, laugh and toast. Oh, and then actually put the look together! That’s the most fun part!
What’s something you want to accomplish that you haven’t yet? In either your professional or your personal life?
Being a mom will be my best accomplishment.
What are 3 things that you never leave home without?
Phone, sunglasses and a hat (no matter what).
You’re constantly surrounded by paparazzi, what do you do to make sure you’re always camera ready?
I don’t think I have quite mastered this yet lol. I think amazing skin is my #1 priority. I can’t always be camera ready or know when I’m gonna be photographed, but if my skin looks amazing then who cares!
What’s the last TV show you binge-watched?
Shahs of Sunset.
What social media app are you CONSTANTLY on?
Guilty pleasure food?
Favorite way to stay in shape?
I’m extremely active. I’m literally sore every single day from one activity or another! I love hot yoga and horseback riding. Those are my passions at the moment.
Twitter or Instagram?
Instagram. I quit Twitter a long time ago.
A red lip or bold eyeshadow?
Eyeshadow duh. Anyone that knows me knows I’m afraid of a red lip. Not for me!
Last song you listened to?
“Billie Jean” by MJ.
If you weren’t acting, what would you be doing?
I would ride horses every second of every single day.
What advice would you give to anyone who wants to act?
Prepare for lots of “no”’s and very few “yes”’s… trust me.
You seem to do it all. How do you balance your married life, work life, and play life?
My life has always had incredible balance, ever since I was super young. My parents always had me in many activities and told me not to put all my eggs in one basket. So I never did and I still don’t. Acting is not my life. It’s an amazing, special part of my life, but it not everything.
There are so many very dear to my heart, I can’t choose one. Humane Society, Best Friends Animal Society, EB, Ride On.
Where can people find you?
Instagram only: NORMANCOOK (all the others are fake!)
