I love playing up fresh skin and fluttery lashes with a glossy lid. There’s something about it that’s subtle and dramatic all at once (which is why it’s a look that suits just about any situation or event). Plus, it’s so versatile. You can opt for a clear gloss for just a hint of light-catching shine, you can layer cream shadow underneath for a pop of color, or you can use a pigmented gloss, which will give you the utmost drama.

Whichever variation of the glossy eye you choose, just know that it’s incredibly easy to re-create. All you need is the right smudge-proof and non-sticky glosses. Check out a few of my favorites, here (spoiler alert: I have many).

VICTORIA BECKHAM x ESTÉE LAUDER – Eye Foil

Although the price of this Victoria Beckham X Estee Lauder eye gloss is luxurious, so is the texture and color. This shade, called “Burnt Anise,” is gorgeous gunmetal grey. Whether you’re going for dinner or drinks, it’s a fail-safe product for high-drama eyes.

Milk Makeup – Eye Vinyl

For those of you who don’t like layering makeup products, this one’s for you. It’s insanely highly pigmented, going on almost completely opaque. Plus, the shine is unbelievable.

YSL- Eye Gloss Smudger

The perfect eye gloss is one that provides shine without stickiness. This one from Saint Laurent does just that. It’s thin and lightweight, but still striking.

KEVYN AUCOIN -The Exotique Diamond Eye Gloss

This gloss is called “Moonlight,” and I can see why. All you need is a single swipe across the eyelid for a pale and glowy sheen. I prefer to use it without any other eye color, since the sparkly finish gives enough drama on its own.

Bobbi Brown- Eye Gloss

This Bobbi Brown eye gloss in shade “Nude” is the perfect compliment to a smoky or smudged eye look. Since it’s doesn’t offer too much pigment, it won’t overwhelm a powder or cream shadow that’s layered beneath it.
